For nearly 50 years, we've anticipated changing market needs and created innovative business solutions designed to help clients meet the challenges of managing personal and institutional wealth.

2017 – We unveil the IdeaFarm, a refurbished farmhouse turned collaborative workspace, at our headquarters in Oaks.

We acquire Archway Technology Partners, LLC, a major provider of operating technologies and services to the family office industry. This marks a shift for the company, as we grow our geographic footprint and market reach via a strategic acquisition.

We partner with Drexel University to conduct a study using artificial intelligence to enhance the SEI Wealth PlatformSM end-client experience.

SEI Trade, a cloud-based solution that automates the paperwork-intensive process of handling, documenting, and tracking investors’ private fund transactions, is unveiled.

2013 – We partner with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts to unveil the SEI Innovation Studio, a 200-seat venue for jazz and theater performances.

2012 – On Dec. 1, Centier Bank becomes our first U.S. bank client to go live on the SEI Wealth Platform.

2011 – On August 1, 80 U.S. Advisor clients migrated onto the SEI Wealth Platform and became the first U.S. clients on the new system.

2006 – On Nov. 30, a major TRUST 3000® client becomes the first client to go live on the SEI Wealth Platform, effectively launching the Platform in its first market – Europe.

2004 – SEI Private Wealth Management is established to serve the complex wealth management needs of the ultra-high-net worth market.

We open our Hong Kong office.

2003 – We launch Goals Based Strategies to enable investment advisers to link specific investment strategies to an investor’s goals. This game-changing investment approach is used by 4 of our 5 business units today.

2001 – We make strides in the development of our next generation wealth management solution, the SEI Wealth Platform.

2000 – We open our Johannesburg office.

2000s – We introduce:

  • A pension management solution that integrates pension decisions with corporate finance objectives, enabling corporate managers to more fully address how pensions impact their company’s financial position.
  • An all-encompassing infrastructure for investment managers called Total Operational Outsourcing that provides an integrated platform for the processing of all investment types.
  • Goal-based investment strategies that enable investment advisers to link specific investment strategies to an investor’s goals, each with different time horizons and risk profiles tolerances.
  • SEI Wealth Platform - for private banks and wealth management organisations, a comprehensive suite of services built around a single, unified platform and designed to support every facet of a global wealth management business. As of December 31, 2017, we process private banking business in 55 countries, transact in 43 currencies, and trade on over 156 exchanges.

1999 – We open our London office.

1996 – SEI Corporation becomes SEI Investments Company (SEI) to better reflect the services the company provides to its clients. We move from its offices in Wayne, PA to our current headquarters in Oaks.

We start to integrate emerging art into the office, with the West Collection. The high impact paintings, sculptures, photographs, and installations displayed at the Oaks campus, and eventually in all of our global offices, are an integral part of working at and visiting our work spaces.

1995 – We open our Dublin office.

1992 – Our investment advisory business continues to grow. We begin marketing our adviser products and services to a new market segment: registered investment advisers and financial advisory firms.

Our Institutional Group begins providing outsourced fiduciary management investment services.

1990s – We launch a wealth management operating platform for independent, fee-based advisers, further transforming the marketplace by aligning advisers’ business interests with their clients’ investment success. We're among the first companies to offer the manager-of-mangers investment programs to both institutional and individual investors in the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and Asia.

1983 - We open our Toronto office.

1981 – Our initial public offering of 7,000 shares of common stock is made on 25 March, 1981 on NASDAQ, under the symbol SEIC.

1980s - We help change the way people look at investing by integrating modern portfolio theory with comprehensive asset allocation models — a process that now is an investment cornerstone.

1970s – While bank trust departments are still largely functioning as a “paper and pencil” business, we transform the industry by developing a completely automated trust and investment accounting system.

1968 – We recognise the need for faster and better training in lending practices, and create the first computer-simulated training technology for loan officers.
