Michael Cagnina

Michael Cagnina is a Senior Vice President and Managing Director of our Institutional business, where he oversees new business development within the institutional investment marketplace. 

His team is responsible for marketing our integrated investment outsourcing and discretionary solutions to corporations, non-profits, multiemployer plan sponsors, public pension plans, and healthcare organizations throughout the United States and Canada.

In his preceding role, Mike was responsible for new client outreach for large institutional investors, focused on non-profit, corporate, and union organizations across the U.S. He was also head of SEI’s Chicago office. Before joining our Institutional business, Mike worked for SEI Capital Resources where his primary responsibilities were portfolio analysis and client service. He previously worked at the Chicago Board of Trade in the U.S. Treasury Bond Futures Pit, where he specialized in technical and fundamental analysis to strengthen trading strategies.

Mike is recognized as an expert in investment outsourcing and discretionary strategies for institutional investors. He regularly speaks at industry conferences and webinars on the topic of investment outsourcing and discretionary investment management. He has been interviewed on best practices by numerous media outlets including Non-profit News, Plan Sponsor, Bloomberg News, Pensions & Investments, and FundFire.

Mike graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in finance and is licensed in FINRA series SIE, 24, 7, and, 63. In 2022, he joined the board of directors for the SEI Diversity program.
