Our leadership teams across the company globally have created a multi-phased return-to-office plan. The health and safety of our workforce is paramount in our planning. We continue to follow the guidance of the local and national governments in the geographies in which we operate as we assess our situation. Our planning is broken into four phases, the first in which we are currently. Approximately 99% of our personnel are observing work-from-home protocols across all of our global locations. We have been able to maintain our operational integrity and the robustness of our offerings in the current work-from-home environment, and we are fortunate to be able to take our time with our return-to-office strategy.

The second phase will take into account only a subset of those roles that are best performed in an office to improve delivery quality, reduce risk and improve efficiency. We are currently planning that on or about June 15, we will welcome approximately 200 of our employees back to our Oaks, Chicago, Indianapolis and Denver offices. This cohort will join the 150 employees currently working in our offices globally to support operations and technology areas. The remainder of our workforce will continue to work from home. We have restructured floor plans to accommodate social distancing measures per national health authorities, as well as implemented various health and safety protocols, such as mandating that all personnel wear masks, where required by national or local health authorities. 

Currently, we expect the third phase will be driven by improvement in health and safety measures relative to community spread of the virus, coupled with extensions of the roles discussed in the second phase and additional support roles necessary to assist a larger workforce. We do not yet have a timetable for when we would implement our third phase.  

We are terming phase four as the “New SEI.” Much of the decision-making regarding this phase, other than consistency on health and safety, will be based on our learnings in the second and third phases. 

We’ll begin welcoming a limited number of employees back to our London, Dublin, Toronto and New York offices in a similar four-phase approach. The management teams in each of these geographies are currently working on timing, including the availability and safety of public transportation.

Our operational integrity remains, and we are confident that our current technology infrastructure and contingency plans will enable us to maintain the integrity of our operations and services, as well as our high standards for client service.
